Newcastle defender Paul Dummett has attempted to deflect the blame of the Leicester defeat from manager Steve Bruce.
Dummet has claimed that Bruce is not to blame for Newcastle’s 5-0 loss to Leicester and their other misfortunes this season.

Is Bruce to blame? Whilst it clearly isn’t all his own fault, to completely absolve him of any criticism would be shortsighted. At the end of the day, he chooses the tactics and the starting line-up and gives his players instructions on what to do on the pitch.
The players are not performing to the best of their abilities, but sitting deep and trying to counter against Leicester with Joelinton – a target man – and only Miguel Almiron to support him is not the best tactic. Leicester have quick defenders and a solid defensive midfielder in Wilfred Ndidi to sweep things up, which meant that Newcastle just constantly gave the ball away in the final third.
Steve Bruce needs to come up with a better way of creating chances going forward, as four goals in seven games so far simply is not good enough for Newcastle.
