READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT
Whilst learning to stick to the basics may help Newcastle’s players, they need more than that to earn points in the Premier League. In truth, it looked like they had no plan, no tactics and no fight against Leicester.
The basics can only get you so far when you lack the quality of other sides, with Miguel Almiron and Joelinton showing very little so far in their Premier League careers. Newcastle need to do more all over the pitch and the buck ultimately stops with Steve Bruce. If he thinks the basics are the way to get them out of this rut, then hopefully it works in the upcoming matches…
