Newcastle are currently sat 19th in the Premier League after losing 5-0 to Leicester at the weekend.
Steve Bruce’s side failed to muster a shot on target and Isaac Hayden was sent off in the first-half for a poor challenge on Leicester midfielder Dennis Praet.
After the game, Sean Longstaff labelled the performance and result as “embarrassing”.

Longstaff is spot on. It was embarrassing for Newcastle as they were completely outplayed and outworked by Leicester, who only finished a few places above them in the league last season.
The midfielder will know that he needs to improve as an individual as well, after another underwhelming display from the academy product. Longstaff has not offered enough in midfield in his last few matches, although he has been struggling with an injury for several months – which can be used an excuse for him.
