Hull City are preparing to offer Newcastle transfer target Jarrod Bowen a new contract to tempt him into staying at the club.
According to The Hull Daily Mail, the Championship outfit are keen to tie him down on extended terms and are poised to open talks.
The report claims that Bowen has ambitions of playing in the Premier League, with Southampton and Newcastle among the teams believed to be interested.

Should Newcastle continue their pursuit of Bowen?

Certainly. These days, contracts mean very little in terms of whether or not a player will leave a club. Realistically, it means that Newcastle will have to pay more money for him if he does sign a new contract, which obviously means that it would be better for Steve Bruce if he doesn’t.
Newcastle have only scored four goals in six games this season, which suggests that they need to strengthen their attacking department in January. They have been linked with Bowen, who has scored four goals in eight league games for Hull this season, after finding the back of the net 22 times last term.
Bowen has proven that he is capable of scoring goals and being an attacking threat from out wide, which could be a huge asset for Newcastle if they are able to bring him to St. James’ Park in January.
