Are Newcastle missing Gayle?

Yes. Steve Bruce’s side have been lacking in attack, to say the least, in the Premier League this season and could do with a player of Gayle’s quality to come back from injury.
Newcastle have scored just four goals in six league matches, with club-record signing Joelinton managing one in six so far – the winner against Tottenham last month.
Gayle is a proven scorer, after netting 23 times on loan to West Brom in the Championship last season. He also scored six Premier League goals during his last season in the top-flight, showing that he knows how to find the back of the net at this level.
Bruce could throw Gayle into the side with Joelinton and look to form a partnership up front, which could help unlock the best out of both of them. Gayle thrived in the Championship last term alongside Jay Rodriguez for West Brom and could strike a similar relationship with Joelinton at St. James’ Park.
