Former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford has heaped praise on Newcastle forwards Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin.
Beckford has claimed that they are both exciting players to watch and hold the key to Newcastle’s goalscoring woes.
Speaking to Sky Sports about Newcastle’s lack of goals, Beckford said this:
They also have a couple of clever players in Saint-Maximin and Almiron.
Those two guys are very exciting players to watch, they’re exciting because whenever they pick the ball up the first thing they want to do is get in the opposition half.
When they’re there, they want to get past the defence they’re up against aswell, they put in crosses, they get shots off, they’re creative players.

Are they the key to Newcastle’s goalscoring woes?

Saint-Maximin has the potential to be. Almiron, however, has been at the club for around nine months and has failed to register a single goal or assist, which suggests that his fortunes are unlikely to drastically change any time soon.
However, Saint-Maximin has yet to have his chance to make an impression due to injuries and could be the key to unlocking Newcastle’s attacking potential when he is back fit and in the side. The winger is an excellent dribbler and constantly looks to get to the byline and get crosses in, based on his time with Nice, so could also help Joelinton with better service into the box.
