Newcastle have sent Dwight Gayle away on a warm-weather training camp as they look to bring him back to full fitness.
Gayle has been out injured since the start of pre-season with a muscle injury but appears to be edging closer to his return to first-team action.

READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT
Gayle scored over 20 goals for West Brom last season and netted six times in the Premier League for Newcastle the year before, so his return could be a massive boost for the club.
Newcastle have scored four goals in their first six games and failed to score more than once in a match so far, which suggests that they are in desperate need of a goalscorer. Gayle’s record in recent seasons indicates that he could be the player Steve Bruce needs to turn his attacking fortunes around in the coming weeks.
If this training camp allows Gayle to return as quickly as possible, it will prove to be a shrewd move from the club as they step up his recovery.
