Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is poised to miss their clash with Newcastle in the Premier League.
According to Sky Sports, Maddison is struggling with an ankle injury and is set to be absent for Newcastle’s game against the Foxes on Sunday.
The report claims that he picked up the knock during Leicester’s 2-1 win over Tottenham last weekend.

Will this come as a huge boost for Newcastle?

Absolutely. Maddison has been sensational for Leicester since signing for the Foxes in the summer of 2018 and created the most chances in the Premier League last season, racking up 100.
Maddison also scored a sublime goal to win Leicester the game against Spurs, finding the bottom corner from outside the box – his first of the campaign to add to his two assists.
Steve Bruce is sure to be happy that his side may not have to defend against the England international, although Leicester do have a number of dangerous attacking players who could cause problems. Whilst it will be a boost to Newcastle that Maddison is absent, the likes of Demarai Gray, Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy are all talented players who could help Leicester pick up the three points.
