Newcastle manager Steve Bruce is ready to drop midfielder Miguel Almiron for their clash with Leicester this weekend.
According to The Daily Star, via The Chronicle, Almiron is poised to be benched after another lacklustre performance against Brighton last week.
The report claims that Allan Saint-Maximin will replace him in the side if he is able to pass a fitness test heading into the match.

Should Almiron be dropped?

It seems as though it could be for the best. Almiron joined Newcastle from Atlanta for a club-record fee last January and has yet to register a goal or an assist for the club to date, despite being an attacking midfielder.
He misses far too many chances in front of goal and often picks the wrong pass in the final third. His build-up can be exciting, at times, as he turns and breaks with pace, but he then lets himself down with a poor shot or pass to finish the move off.
Benching him could motivate him to work even harder on the training pitch to improve his end product and give him the drive to push on and prove that he is capable of being a Premier League player at Newcastle in the long-term.
