Newcastle have had a tough start to the Premier League season with just five points after six games.
Steve Bruce’s side have won one of their six matches, drawing with Watford and Brighton and losing to Arsenal, Norwich and Liverpool.
The Chronicle ran a headline on Tuesday stating that Bruce is ready to ditch his “front-foot” approach.

Front-foot approach? Newcastle had 28% possession at home to Brighton last weekend and scraped a 0-0 draw and have so far failed to impose themselves on any game this season.
Even their only win, as good as it was against Spurs, came when they sat back and hit on the break – rather than playing on the front-foot. This makes the claim that Bruce is ready to drop the approach odd, considering there is little evidence to suggest it was in place to begin with.
