Newcastle staff members reportedly feel like the club is missing Mo Diame after his exit in the summer.
According to The Chronicle, there is a feeling within the staff that the club should have kept Diame, or at least replaced him.
The report claims that Newcastle did not offer Diame an extension on his deal due to him being over the age of 30.

Should Newcastle have kept Diame?

Yes, or replaced him at the very least. No current Newcastle midfielder offers the same things Diame did at the club, with his powerful running and strength on the ball.
Diame was unique amongst Newcastle’s central midfield options and the club opted against replacing him in the transfer window, which could prove to be a mistake.
With Sean Longstaff currently out injured, Jonjo Shelvey has failed to step up to the plate and Newcastle are struggling to impact games in midfield this season. Keeping Diame could have been the difference, as he would have been able to use his physical attributes to win the ball back and keep possession for Newcastle, whilst also being able to drive forward.
Now, whilst Diame would not have solved all of Newcastle’s problems, it would be one less issue for Steve Bruce as he looks to keep this side in the Premier League for another season.
