Newcastle have been linked with interest in Sevilla midfielder Rony Lopes this week.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle have been to watch lopes over 10 times for Sevilla and Monaco as they consider a move for the forward.
The report claims that Newcastle have a transfer budget of £25m for the January transfer window and are looking into the possibility of signing Lopes either on loan or on a permanent deal.
Lopes joined Sevilla from Monaco in the summer but has only made one first-team appearance for the Spanish side so far this season, failing to register a goal or an assist in the match.
Newcastle have only scored four goals in their first five Premier League matches and have been lacking a creative spark in the middle of the pitch, which could be why they are targeting Lopes.
But should they sign him? Here are four reasons why the answer is yes…
