One this day back in 1997, Newcastle forward Tino Asprilla cemented his place in the history books with an incredible hat-trick against Barcelona to seal a 3-2 win in the Champions League.
Newcastle have brought the performance up again, 22 years to the day since the game.

It’s fairly safe to say that Newcastle will not be playing Champions League football any time soon, going by recent league finishes, so looking back at past glories may be as close as the fans get these days.
Asprilla was never able to score regularly in the Premier League for Newcastle, but his Champions League record was outstanding. He found the back of the net nine times in 11 matches, compared to just nine in 48 in the league.
