Newcastle monitoring Bogle – do they need him?

According to The Shields Gazette, Newcastle are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Bogle ahead of the next transfer window.

No. Newcastle have plenty of depth in the fullback positions, particularly at right-back and should be looking to strengthen other areas of their squad.

Javier Manquillo, DeAndre Yedlin and Emil Krafth are all competing for the right-back berth at the moment, with Krafth having impressed in recent matches – showing that there is no immediate cause for concern in the position.

Although Bogle is young and highly-rated, Newcastle would be better off using their resources to add quality in the attacking midfield position, with a stark lack of options for Bruce in that area of the pitch.

Miguel Almiron has not been directly involved in a single goal since his arrival at the club, whilst Allan Saint-Maximin is injured and Christian Atsu blows hot and cold.
