Former Newcastle strikers Michael Owen and Alan Shearer have found themselves caught up in a bizarre Twitter spat.
This comes ahead of the release of Owen’s new book, in which he reveals that he did not want to complete a big-money move back to the Premier League from Real Madrid.
Shearer, a well-known, passionate Newcastle supporter, hit back on social media.

Owen has never really been a popular figure with Newcastle fans and after his latest revelations about his time at the club, it’s easy to see why.
Add to that, his decision to try and take on club hero Alan Shearer was never going to end well with the locals.
