Newcastle were left frustrated as they were forced to settle for a draw against Watford at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Steve Bruce’s side did, however, go 1-0 down in the second minute of the match. Will Hughes converted from close range to hand Watford the lead, after some lapse defending from Newcastle.
The Toon were able to level the scores before half-time, though, as central defender Fabian Schar latched onto a loose ball in the box and excellently finished into the bottom corner past Ben Foster.
Miguel Almiron had an excellent chance to score his first goal for Newcastle, but his first touch was poor and allowed Foster to come out and smother the ball.
Martin Dubravka also made a couple of fine stops to avoid Watford claiming all three points from the match at the weekend.
But, what did we learn from the game? We have picked out four things…
