# These Newcastle fans praise Muto after Leicester goal

Newcastle striker Yoshi Muto scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday in the League Cup defeat to Leicester.

Muto converted from close range to make it 1-1 in the second-half, after James Maddison’s opener, only for Newcastle to lose 4-2 on penalties to the Foxes.

Speaking after the game, Muto said that he was happy to score, but disappointed with the defeat.

### READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT

Newcastle will need as many goals in their side as possible if they want to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

Joelinton is now off and running after his first goal for the club against Tottenham, but Newcastle should not be looking to purely rely on the Brazilian to find the back of the net.

Muto will be needed to score goals at times, perhaps if Joelinton picks up an injury or suspension, or if he comes off the bench late on in games as Newcastle chase a result.
