# Krafth says Newcastle showed their class against Spurs – a good sign?

Newcastle right-back Emil Krafth says that they showed the fans how good they can be with their win over Tottenham.

Joelinton scored the only goal of the game as Newcastle secured the three points against the Champions League finalists, a week after losing 3-1 to newly-promoted Norwich.

Krafth has acknowledged that they were not good enough against Norwich, but has praised the display against Spurs.

### READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT

Newcastle were, quite simply, outplayed by Norwich at Carrow Road, but went for a more conservative approach against Spurs.

Steve Bruce’s side got the early goal and then proceeded to defend deep and, at times, ride their luck. Jamaal Lascelles was fortunate not to give away a penalty and Lucas Moura missed two gilt-edged opportunities to level the scores for the home side.

Bruce will know that the performance against Spurs does not solve all of their issues, but it is a step in the right direction and a sign that they can grind out results against the best teams in the division.

This will stand them in good stead for the rest of the campaign, as they fight to avoid relegation back down to the Championship.
