These Newcastle fans react to Saint-Maximin update

Newcastle picked up their first win of the Premier League season on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Tottenham.

Joelinton scored the only goal of the game, as he collected Christian Atsu’s clipped ball and found the bottom corner.

Atsu, however, was only on the pitch due to an injury to Allan Saint-Maximin – who suffered a hamstring just minutes into the match.

The winger posted a message thanking the Newcastle faithful for their support after the game.

Twitter: Im so proud ? Of course I would have preferred not being hurt … BUT the most important is the victory of our team… https://t.co/c8Qipn9i2Z (@asaintmaximin)

Here are some of the reactions…

READ NEWCASTLE VERDICT

Saint-Maximin already appears to be having a positive impact on Tyneside, although it is off the pitch rather than on it.

A selection of Newcastle fans, as shown, seem to be falling in love with his personality – following his move to the club from OCG Nice over the summer.

He was unfortunate to pick up a hamstring early on into his first start for Newcastle, but is clearly delighted that his teammates were able to bring the three points home.
