Newcastle made Brazilian forward Joelinton their club-record signing when they brought him in from Hoffenheim over the summer.
The striker scored 11 goals in all competitions for Hoffenheim last season, and notched for the first time in Newcastle colours on Sunday.
He scored the only goal of the game as Newcastle won 1-0 away to Tottenham in the Premier League – their first win of the season.

After missing a sitter against Norwich the previous weekend, Joelinton silenced any doubters with an excellent performance against Spurs.
The forward had one chance and took it clinically, bringing the ball down with a perfect first touch before rifling the ball into the bottom corner – giving Hugo Lloris no chance in the Spurs goal.
Despite often being left isolated up front, Joelinton worked hard for the team and held the ball up well. He should have had an assist when he sent Christian Atsu through in the second-half, only for the winger to take a heavy touch and end the attack.
