These Newcastle fans aren’t happy at Bruce’s comments pre-Norwich

Newcastle United, unfortunately, began the new campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal last weekend.

After a promising opening half, a lapse in concentration at the back allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to strike shortly after the interval, which proved to be the winner.

The Magpies will now be hoping to get on the board with a positive result at newly-promoted Norwich City on Saturday.

And talking to the media, cited by the club’s official website, Bruce admitted it would be ‘wonderful to nick a result’ at Carrow Road.

We need to have that belief that we can go there and get a result. It took us a long time to get started last year so it would be wonderful to nick a result. We didn’t win until November so it will be vitally important if we can get a few results. Let’s hope we can get up and running tomorrow.

However, these Newcastle fans weren’t too pleased by Bruce’s comments ahead of the game against the Canaries.

It has to be said, Bruce’s comments haven’t gone down well with the Magpies faithful.

It’s a strange approach to take by the Newcastle boss. He’s brought up last season’s start, which appears to me that he’s already feeling the pressure.

If the trip to Carrow Road goes pear shaped and Bruce travels back to Tyneside with nothing to show for his efforts, fans will begin to get even more restless, and more comments like these won’t increase his popularity around St James’ Park.

matchday.
