A number of Newcastle supporters have been left bemused by the club’s description of defender Javier Manquillo after a recent interview.
Speaking on the club’s official website, Manquillo was looking ahead to Saturday’s trip to Norwich and giving his thoughts on the game.
However, it wasn’t the interview that was the big talking point, but more so the club’s decision to hail the defender as ‘inform’ in the tweet that was promoting it.
A number of fans have been reacting hilariously on social media.

The club may have thrown Manquillo under the bus a little with that tweet, but many have been quick to point out his performances in pre-season and throughout the last campaign.
Manquillo was a very important figure at the back for Newcastle towards the end of last season, but it doesn’t quite feel right to be calling him ‘inform’ based on that.
Add to that a number of impressive performances in pre-season, but as we all know, those games mean very little in terms of importance and you can often read too much into those results.
The Spaniard was one of Newcastle’s better players on Sunday against Arsenal and he’ll be hoping to continue that with more of the same as the club prepare to face Norwich.
If he wants to justify the label of being an ‘inform defender’, fans will want to see more of the same at Carrow Road.
