Newcastle fans react to Joelinton’s full debut against Arsenal

Newcastle suffered a 1-0 defeat in Steve Bruce’s first game in charge of the Toon.

In his first Newcastle side, Bruce gave a full debut to new signing Joelinton, who joined over the summer from Hoffenheim.

Some Newcastle fans reacted to the debut, with the Brazilian showing some positive signs, although failing to score.

Ant was very impressed with the striker on his debut for Newcastle.

Brian was confused with how Newcastle were playing, with Joelinton looking starved of service.

Tom thought that Joelinton did okay, but that he must learn to be more clinical if he is to make it in this league.

However, some fans were less than pleased with Joelinton, with @TOONRafalution saying he is not fit to replace Salomon Rondon.

It was certainly a promising debut for the Brazilian, who did look good against a strong Arsenal side.

However, he didn’t look all that clinical, which is certainly something that Steve Bruce will have to look at going forward.

If Newcastle are to stay up then they will need to get the striker firing, especially with his big price tag.

Based off today, he could be the one to get the goals, but he will need an improved team performance behind him to get that, with the service he was getting simply awful.

matchday.
