Sweden international Emil Krafth looks set to make the move to St James’ Park before the window slams shut.
The 25-year-old, according to French outlet Soccer Link, cited by Sports Witness, will arrive on Tyneside on Wednesday to undergo a medical after the Magpies agreed on a €7 million deal with Ligue 1 side Amiens.
The report claims that the defender will put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the club, making him the club’s fourth summer signing.
Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin have already arrived to bolster Steve Bruce’s attacking ranks, while left-back Jetro Willems recently joined on a season-long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The imminent arrival of the right-back will come as a welcome relief to Bruce, who has been tracking numerous targets in that area over recent weeks.
So here at Read Newcastle, we’ve decided to take a closer look at four winners and four losers in the proposed deal for Krafth.
