Vasco da Gama striker Marrony has revealed that Newcastle are the Premier League team he supports, not long after the club were linked with a move for the player.
As reported by Globo Esporte, Marrony named the Magpies as his favourite club in England after confirming that he was aware of the teams that were interested in his services this summer.
As the striker goes public in his admiration for the club, should Newcastle change their transfer stance?

Marrony remains an interesting proposition for any Europe side. Sport Witness claim that the player is available for €18 million, despite the fact he has a €35 million release clause.
Newcastle and Mike Ashley have made it clear that they’re looking towards the future, trying to sign players who have a re-sale value.
As a player who can play out wide or as a central striker, Marrony has a lot of potential to grow into and with potential, could come huge reward for the club financially.
However, moving from the Brazilian leagues into Europe has not always been a well-trodden path. Any deal to sign Marrony would be a risk and should be viewed as a long-term project, not someone who could come directly into the first-team squad and make an impact.
