# Newcastle send scouts to watch Sweden international Krafth

Newcastle have sent scouts to monitor Amiens right-back Emil Krafth, according to the [https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-take-closer-look-16644250?_ga=2.112546372.1174795308.1564061924-474438072.1511017466](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-take-closer-look-16644250?_ga=2.112546372.1174795308.1564061924-474438072.1511017466)*[Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-take-closer-look-16644250?_ga=2.112546372.1174795308.1564061924-474438072.1511017466)*.

The Magpies reportedly “had talent spotters in the stands” for Amiens trip to the KCOM Stadium to face Hull City.

It was the French side who eventually ran out 2-0 winners on Wednesday night, with Krafth helping his side keep a clean sheet.

He is seen as someone who can provide competition for DeAndre Yedlin at right-back, giving Newcastle two strong options there.

The 24-year-old is a Sweden international, earning 20 caps to date, including an appearance against England in the World Cup quarter-final last summer.

New Newcastle manager Steve Bruce sees defensive cover as important and Krafth appears to tick that box.

The pre-season friendly also gave scouts an opportunity to watch fellow rumoured target Jarrod Brown, who was featuring for Hull.

The young forward enjoyed a superb 2018/19 season, scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances.
