Newcastle are reportedly considering a move for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen this summer – could he replace Ayoze Perez?
According to The Chronicle, via HITC, Newcastle have discussed the possibility of going in for Bowen, with Steve Bruce having managed him at Hull earlier in his career.
Newcastle have already smashed their transfer record this summer to bring Joelinton in from Hoffenheim for £40m, but they could still look to add to their forward options.
Ayoze Perez hit 13 goals and three assists in all competitions for Newcastle last season, before completing a transfer to Leicester City earlier this summer.
So, could Bowen be the perfect replacement for Perez?

Although their play styles are slightly different, Bowen could still replicate Perez’s impact on Tyneside in terms of goals and assists if he did join the club.
Bowen scored 22 goals in the Championship for Hull last season and found the back of the net 14 times the year before. This means that the 22-year-old has an impressive record of 36 goals in 88 Championship appearances for Hull from the right wing.
He is excellent at cutting in from the right and unleashing fierce shots into the far left corner – think trademark Arjen Robben at Bayern Munich.
If Newcastle could snap him up this summer, Bowen would be a superb replacement for Perez and give Steve Bruce’s side a real chance of staying in the Premier League for another season.
