Newcastle are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Vasco da Gama striker Marrony, but is he a player that the club should be targetting?
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, the Magpies are keen to complete a deal as they look to add to their squad during the transfer window.
Steve Bruce will need to add to his ranks this summer and after losing Salomon Rondon, he needs to add goals to his side.
Marrony is highly rated in Brazil, but at the age of 20 is unlikely to be the player that Bruce looks to lead the line for Newcastle during the new Premier League season.

If Newcastle can get this deal over the line at a reasonable price, they should look to do so, but supplement it by making further additions.
Should Newcastle fail to strengthen accordingly in the final third then they face the prospect of another relegation battle under Bruce with the squad lacking a serious goal threat.
