Newcastle United target Alfredo Morelos is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League this summer – so should the Magpies firm up their interest in the striker with a concrete offer?

According to the Daily Express, cited by the Scotsman, Eintracht Frankfurt have pulled out of a deal for the Rangers man after hearing the player prefers a move to the Premier League.

The controversial striker would definitely bring quality to St James’ Park, however, could the Colombian be trusted in England’s top-flight division?

Morelos picked up a staggering five red cards under Steven Gerrard last season and his disciplinary record will be a concern to the Magpies.

However, despite his disciplinary problems, Morelos has proven his goal-scoring ability in Scotland and could be worth a punt in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has plenty of years to mature and improve, and Rafael Benitez, if he stays on Tyneside, could be the perfect man to calm the striker down.

If Morelos can adapt to life in the Premier League and most importantly, stay on the pitch, he could prove to be a real fan favourite with Newcastle and could be a shrewd signing this summer.

Should Newcastle make a move for Morelos?

Yes, worth a gamble

No, can't be trusted
