Ayoze Perez inspired Newcastle to a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday, as the Spaniard scored a hat-trick to all but secure the Magpies’ Premier League status for another season.
The 25-year-old scored two goals in four minutes either side of the half hour mark to give Rafael Benitez’s side a comfortable lead at half time, before Saints threatened a comeback following Mario Lemina’s fine finish.
Perez completed his hat-trick and sealed the win for the home side late on, however.
