Newcastle all but secured their Premier League status in a handsome 3-1 win over Southampton at St James’ Park.
Ayoze Perez led the Magpies to glory, netting his first hat-trick in the black and white stripes of Newcastle.
Perez opened the scoring on 27 minutes through a great finish past Angus Gunn, before adding to it just 4 minutes later.
Southampton would get a goal back just after half time, with Mario Lemina giving the Saints some hope in the match.
However, with time running down, Matt Ritchie would have his header put in by Ayoze Perez to wrap up a vital three points for the Toon.
The result puts Newcastle past the 40 point mark, and all but guarantees their survival in the top flight.
