Newcastle Player Ratings: Burnley (H)

Newcastle United recorded back-to-back wins after beating Burnley 2-0 at St James’ Park.

This comes after the Magpies cruised to a 2-0 win against Huddersfield last Saturday with Rafa Benitez’s side claiming a vital six points in a matter of days.

It is also four straight home wins for United which has helped them move up to 13th in the Premier League and seven clear of the drop.

The game was scrappy for much of the 90 minutes before a piece of quality broke the deadlock.

The first goal was a screamer from centre-back Fabian Schar who fired a rocket from 25 yards into the top-right corner of the net after 25 minutes.

It was made two just under 15 minutes later when Sean Longstaff collected a loose ball in the box and fired home for his first Premier League goal.

Newcastle then controlled the second half with the visitors rarely creating a clear-cut chance.

The relegation fears seem to be ebbing away as the Magpies creep another three points into mid-table.

After another impressive display, here’s how we rated the Newcastle players:
