However, in the Magpies’ last home game, they stunned title chasing Manchester City with a 2-1 win.
Saturday’s fixture will be slightly different with Rafa Benitez’s side being firm favourites as opposed to the underdogs like they have been in each of their last three games.
Their opponents sit rooted to the bottom of the table having picked up just 11 points from their 26 games so far this season.
Benitez has a positive selection dilemma to make with new and returning players in the frame to feature.
Only Rob Elliot misses out while Jonjo Shelvey remains a doubt in a near fully-fit squad.
