There was late heartbreak for Newcastle United after a 95th minute equaliser pegged back Rafa Benitez’s side to a 1-1 draw at Molineux.
It was a story of two goalkeeping howlers after Isaac Hayden gave the visitors the lead 10 minutes into the second-half.
This came as a result of two errors by Wolves keeper Rui Patricio, the latter of which allowed the ball into the back of the net despite Hayden’s effort being straight at him.
United then resiliently held on for much of the second-half as they went into four minutes of injury-time.
However, a harmless Adama Traore cross led to Magpies keeper Martin Dubravka trying to catch the ball but ultimately misjudging the situation.
The ball went through Dubrvka’s arms for Willy Boly to head in a dramatic equaliser.
This point moves Newcastle one point clear of the relegation zone but it could so easily have been three.
Newcastle can take heart from this performance however and here’s how we rated their players:
Martin Dubravka: 5
Made some decent saves throughout but for the second game running, he cost his side valuable points.
DeAndre Yedlin: 4
Had a bit of a nightmare against Jonny and Jota and gave the ball away countless times.
Fabian Schar: 7
Produced an impressive assist for Hayden’s goal but also struggled against the Wolves forwards at times.
Jamaal Lascelles (C): 7
Made a superb tackle 1-on-1 with Jimenez and had some powerful aeriel wins.
Florian Lejeune: 6
Quite sloppy in possession and almost gifted Jimenez a decent chance.
Matt Ritchie: 6
Coped better down his side but lacked quality in the final third.
Isaac Hayden: 8
Made a good run into the box for his goal and looked very positive throughout.
Sean Longstaff: 9
Man of the match after super protection of the defence, composure on the ball and broke up many Wolves attacks.
Christian Atsu: 6
Made a crucial tackle on Jimenez in the box but was largely anonymous going forward.
Ayoze Perez: 7
Lots of energy but lacked a quality final ball.
Salomon Rondon: 6
Had a few glimpses of goal but without usual composure.
Miguel Almiron (sub): 6
Showed glimpses of his quality and electric pace in his 20 minutes.
Mohamed Diame (sub): N/A
Only came on after 85 minutes.
Javier Manquillo (sub): N/A
