Jonjo Shelvey will not be leaving Newcastle this month, according to manager Rafa Benitez.
As reported by Chronicle Live, Benitez has confirmed that the club have not made the player available for transfer.
When quizzed on the possibility of who could leave the club this month, Benitez replied:
I said before that Elliott was available, the others it depends. The idea is to keep as much as we can.
Reports had linked West Ham with a January move for the former Liverpool man, while Fulham were also said to be keen.

Concerns had been raised about the player’s future after he was in and out of the Newcastle team in recent weeks, but the player has been battling a thigh injury.
Shelvey has been a key figure at Newcastle during Benitez’s time at the club and the Spaniard would not be willing to lose the player while there are no guarantees that he’d get the money to reinvest in his squad.
Benitez is once again working on limited budgets at Newcastle, with talk of a takeover still surrounding the club.
