# Milan set Laxalt price at €12m

Newcastle have been told that they will have to pay €12m for AC Milan midfielder Diego Laxalt.

[According to Calcio Mercato, via The BBC,](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip) Milan have set Laxalt’s price tag at €12m amid interest from Newcastle this month.

The Toon have been heavily linked with a swoop for the midfielder, who can also play in defence, as Rafa Benitez looks to bolster his options.

Newcastle dropped into the relegation zone over the weekend and are hoping to make improvements to their squad over the next few weeks.

Laxalt has played 13 Serie A games for Milan this season, but has only started four times, and is thought to be open to a move to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old joined Milan last summer from Genoa after he impressed for Uruguay in the World Cup as a left-back.

He made 111 Serie A appearances for Genoa, scoring seven times, after starting his career in Uruguay.
