Newcastle have been given some bad news ahead of their Boxing Day meeting with Liverpool following claims that both Naby Keita and Trent Alexander-Arnold are due to return for the match.
According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Alexander-Arnold, who has been out of action since picking up an injury during the Reds’ 1-0 win over Napoli earlier this month, had trained with his teammates and as such, he could come back into the first team.
The teenager watched from the stands with the away fans as Liverpool defeated Wolves on Friday night, and he’ll have seen Keita go off with an injury of his own.

However, the cuts that the midfielder suffered are not deemed to be serious, therefore he too could start the game if called upon by Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool go into Wednesday’s game four points clear at the top of the Premier League table and they’ll be hoping to get another three points to maintain, or possibly extend, the gap between themselves and Manchester City.
