Rafa Benitez’s search for reinforcements has seen the club drop into non-league football, with reports claiming that they will rival Leicester and Crystal Palace for Macauley Bonne.
According to the Non-League Paper, the Magpies are among the teams looking to sign the player from Leyton Orient.
Fulham, Palace, Huddersfield and Norwich have all been linked with moves to sign the striker following his impressive run of form this season.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, it is being reported that Leicester are currently ahead of their Premier League rivals in the queue to sign him.
Bonne’s performances in the National League have not been going unnoticed, having scored 17 goals in 24 games for Orient.
The ex-Colchester man has fired the club to the top of the National League and the O’s are now expected to face a fight to keep hold of him either in January or at the end of the season.
