# Newcastle linked with Reine-Adelaide swoop

Former Arsenal youngster Jeff Reine-Adelaide has been linked with a surprise January switch to Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old is currently plying his trade in his homeland of France with Angers, who made his temporary stay at the club permanent during the summer transfer window.

Reine-Adelaide impressed during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign and his displays convinced the Ligue 1 side to retain his services as they handed him a four-year deal.

The France Under-21 international is a key player for Angers and has made 15 appearances for his side this season.

However, according to claims from France Football, as translated by [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-united-position-sign-former-arsenal-player-january/), his services are set to be in demand once again at the turn of the year, with Newcastle monitoring his situation.

The Magpies have been linked with a host of players from Ligue 1 ahead of the January transfer window, with Reine-Adelaide the latest to be touted as a potential target.

Nevertheless, prising him away from Angers could prove to be difficult given his clear importance to the team throughout the first half of the campaign.
