The attacking midfielder is on the verge of sealing a loan switch to Newcastle in January, which could then become permanent in the summer.

Rojas claims that the fee could be in the region of £15m, for the midfielder who has impressed in the MLS.

Newcastle have been heavily linked with a swoop for Almiron for a number of months, with the Argentine being a player Rafa Benitez is keen to bring in.

Benitez wants to strengthen his squad and it looks as though he is set to make his first signing of the upcoming transfer window.
