Newcastle United will be keen to get back to winning ways when they travel to Everton on Wednesday night.
The Magpies had been on a strong run of form in recent times after their treacherous start to the Premier League campaign.
However, they were consigned to a comprehensive defeat on Saturday afternoon at the hands of West Ham. Manuel Pellegrini’s side defeated Rafa Benitez’s men 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Javier Hernandez and a goal from Felipe Anderson.
Everton, too, were on the end of a defeat. The Toffees conceded a crushing goal deep into stoppage time on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool came out on top in the Merseyside derby.
Benitez and his Newcastle side head into this fixture as the clear underdogs but will be keen to spring a surprise at Goodison Park.
Here is how we expect the visitors to line up on Wednesday night against Everton.
Dubravka is Newcastle’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.
At right wing-back, Yedlin is likely to be handed a start.
Schar is set to continue and will play on the right of a back three.
Fernandez has been a key man for Benitez this season and is likely to start once again.
Making up the back three, Lascelles is set to be given the nod.
Manquillo is poised to start at left wing-back with Paul Dummett still sidelined.
In central midfield, Ki is set to be handed another chance to shine.
Alongside Ki, Diame is likely to be called on to provide energy and steel against Everton.
Perez will be looking to find space in behind Everton’s defensive lines.
Kenedy is set to join Perez in the attacking line behind the striker.
Rondon is the preferred choice up front for Benitez now. He’s set to lead the line.
