Dubravka linked with Juventus switch
Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has been linked with a shock switch to Juventus.
The 29-year-old has been impressive for the Magpies this season and has turned in some heroic performances, keeping the team in various Premier League fixtures.
These displays do not appear to have gone unnoticed, either. Calciomercato report that Dubravka has been lined up by Serie A giants Juventus ahead of the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that Massimiliano Allegri’s side are targeting the experienced goalkeeper as they look to provide their current number one Wojciech Szczesny with a reliable backup option.
The former Arsenal man has established his place in the starting line-up following Gianluigi Buffon’s summer switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, it seems Juventus are not currently satisfied with their pool of goalkeeping options and have reportedly identified Dubravka as a player who could add quality to the ranks.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will be desperately keen to retain the services of his shot-stopper, who continues to prove his worth at St James’ Park.
