Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett has offered Rafa Benitez as a boost, as he claims that he is ‘edging closer’ to a return from injury.
The Wales international has been sturggling with a knock in recent times and was forced to sit out of the Magpies’ crucial 2-1 win away at Burnley earlier on this week.
Nevertheless, it seems Dummett will not be sat on the sidelines for too much longer. The player posted an update on Twitter, indicating that his return to action is not far away.

The left-back has emerged as a crucial part of Benitez’s plans at St James’ Park in recent seasons and his absence was felt by the team given the lack of depth in the position.
Dummett’s injury also prompted claims that Newcastle could dip into the transfer market in January as they have been linked with various left-sided defenders.
The 27-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Magpies this season and will be desperate to get back on the pitch.
