Newcastle to back Benitez with January funds
Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez will be backed with money to spend in the January transfer window, according to a report from Chronicle Live.
The Magpies’ owner Mike Ashley will allocate the Spaniard with funds as he looks to help lift the club away from the dangers of relegation down to the Championship this season.
Newcastle’s shortage of spending in the transfer market has been well documented over several years and questions were asked over whether or not Benitez would be sufficiently supported ahead of the mid-season window.
However, as per the report, Ashley has insisted that the manager will be given the opportunity to bolster the ranks when the January transfer window does come around.
It is not specified just how much Benitez will be allowed to spend on signings in the New Year, but the boss is sure to take encouragement as he begins to make plans to land reinforcements.
Newcastle are currently sat in 14th place on the Premier League table following two consecutive wins against Watford and Bournemouth respectively.
