# Newcastle await Dummett injury update

Newcastle are anxiously waiting for an injury update for defender Paul Dummett, after the full-back went off injured during international duty with Wales.

Dummett starting for the Dragons in their UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark, pulling up after 38 minutes after chasing Yussuf Poulsen.

The 27-year old had been heavily involved before he sustained the injury, on what was just his fourth cap for his country.

Newcastle will now wait to assess the situation, and will ask the Welsh FA’s medical team for an update on the issue.

Dummett’s injury has left Newcastle dangerously short of cover in that position. Javier Manquillo can play in that position if required, while Chelsea loanee Kenedy has also played in that position in Dummett’s absence.
