Woodman ready to force way out of St James’ Park in January

Freddie Woodman is not happy at Newcastle.

The goalkeeper has not found a way into the first team, with Martin Dubravka keeping a strong grip on the gloves in Rafael Benitez’s side.

As a result, the 21-year-old is preparing to try and force a move away from Tyneside in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Woodman has not featured in the senior team so far this season, and is desperate to get regular playing time.

However, fellow Magpies shot-stopper Rob Elliot is also tipped with a move away from St James’ Park, and rumour has it that Benitez is only prepared to let one of the two leave.

It is likely that Woodman’s departure would only be a temporary exit, in what would be his fifth loan chance with Newcastle since joining the ‘Toon in 2014.

The 2017 U20 World Cup hero has previously spent time at Hartlepool, Crawley, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
