Newcastle United are being linked with a move to sign Bologna striker Mattia Destro in January.
According to reports in Italy, both Newcastle and Sampdoria are interested in a deal to sign the Italian.
The striker has fallen out of favour at Bologna and there are now suggestions that he could be on the move in the new year.
The 27-year-old has started just twice for Bologna this season, making another four appearances off the bench.
Destro has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and could now finally be about to get his chance to play in England.
During his time with Roma earlier in his career, Destro was heavily linked with a big-money move to Chelsea to provide competition for Diego Costa, but a move never materialised as the Giallorossi refused to sell.
The striker was tipped to achieve big things from a young age in Italy but has never really fulfilled his potential.
