Newcastle could make fresh swoop for Yacine Brahimi
Newcastle United could make a fresh swoop to recruit FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi, according to reports.
The Magpies have long been linked with a move for the Algerian international, whose future at Porto has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the January transfer window.
Reports in Portugal, as cited by the Shields Gazette, have indicated that contract talks between Brahimi and Porto have reached an impasse, with the player now likely to move on at the nearest opportunity.
It was claimed during the summer transfer window that Porto were holding out for a fee worth £26 million for their star man. Fresh claims state, however, that the Liga NOS outfit may be willing to negotiate at a lower price.
Brahimi is likely to be a man in demand in January. It’s reported that Newcastle are joined by West Ham and Everton as they observe the winger’s situation at Porto.
The 28-year-old has scored two goals from nine Liga NOS appearances this season.
