Newcastle have reportedly sent scouts to watch Bordeaux striker François Kamano after his brilliant start to the season.
According to the reliable Scouts in Attendance, as cited on Calciomercato, the Magpies were present to watch the forward in the recent Europa League match against Copenhagen.
Kamano has scored seven goals in nine appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season.
Rafa Benitez’s side have been struggling for goals from their forward players this season, meaning they are in the market for a striker during the January window.
After losing both Aleksandar Mitrović and Dwight Gayle during the summer, Newcastle have been forced to rely heavily on the likes of Salomon Rondon and Yoshinori Muto.
Benitez’s side have been left in desperate need of reinforcements as they find themselves 19th in the Premier League after eight games.
The Magpies have just two points to their name after a disappointing loss to Manchester United over the weekend, with the club blowing a two-goal lead.
