Brazilian winger Kenedy has revealed that re-joining Newcastle United was always at the forefront of his mind this summer.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, as cited on Sport Witness, Kenedy was quizzed on his future and the decision to return to St James’ Park.
I was always very keen to come back. The first loan spell worked out very well for Newcastle and myself, so when I heard they were interested in bringing me back this season, I was delighted. I didn’t play too much for Chelsea, so getting more minutes here can only be good for my career.

The Chelsea star spent the second half of last season on loan at the club after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte.
Kenedy became an instant hit with the club’s supporters, with many urging the club to re-sign the player over the summer.
His flair and trickery played a big role in keeping Newcastle in the division last season, with fans hoping he can have a similar effect this time around.
The two sides were locked in negotiations throughout the summer, with Chelsea not prepared to lose him on a permanent basis, however, he did return on a season-long loan deal.
